ALMOST 6000 GATHER FOR AN OUTSTANDING FIREWORKS DISPLAY ON THE CRICKET GROUND

Horsham Sports Club’s 8th annual firework display Saturday 28th October 2017.

The atmosphere was electric at Horsham Sports Club this weekend, as the Cricket Club held their 8th annual fireworks display, which was flawlessly delivered by Aurora Fireworks.  The stunning display, took place in the grounds of the Horsham Sports Club, Cricket Field Road on Saturday 28th October. Gates opened at 4.30pm and thousands of the local community gathered together to enjoy the event on what was a surprisingly warm and clear autumnal night.

At the entrance was a fantastic fairground, powered by steam engines, courtesy of Horsham Traction Company, which was packed with some great rides and stalls for all the family to enjoy.

The field was lined with a delicious mix of tempting street food which ran throughout the night supplied by some of Horsham’s market favourites, Steak Expectations, Ginger Rookes, Soul Street Kitchen and The Pizza Oven. Together with Hog Roast, Fish and Chips, Thai, Hot Dogs, Pick n Mix, Donuts and much more meant there was something to suit all tastes.

The club provided a large outdoor drinks tent and brought in extra staff to ensure that the drinks were flowing and queues kept to a minimum. The evening concluded with live music in the clubhouse with local band Saviours of Soul filling the dance floor.

Chris Wassell, The Club’s Chairman enthused: “It was great to see so many of the Horsham Community at this really important fundraising event. Much needed funds were raised for both the club and St Catherine’s Hospice and I’m happy to say that due to the success of the event, we will  also be donating part of the funds raised on the night to local charity Chestnut Tree House.  Thank you to all who came for your support and your continued support of our community club.”

St Catherine’s is a local charity with big ambition: to help people facing death and bereavement and offer expert support and care when people need it most.

Chestnut Tree House is a children’s charity providing hospice care services and community support for children and young people with progressive life-shortening conditions throughout East and West Sussex, Brighton and Hove and South East Hampshire.
