Horsham Sports Club hosts the first ever heat of the brand new Comedy Competition ‘Sussex Comedian of the Year’ #SCOTY which is open to up and coming Comedians from all over the UK, taking place across four heats and one final hosted in the Horsham District and will be run biennially going forward.

Sussex Comedian of the Year competition has been set up and is being run by Barnstormers Comedy (Promoter and Comedian Kevin Precious) and Andromeda Talent (Speakers’ & Hosts Agent & Booker Kaye Freeman).

The Judging Panel for the heats will be made up of Kevin Precious, co-founder of Barnstormers Comedy, Kaye Freeman of Andromeda Talent, an industry professional (experienced Comedian, Promoter or similar) and an additional judge from the local business or media.
The judging panel will decide the placing in the Heats on criteria including but not limited to: Performance, delivery & timing, audience reaction, quality of writing.

Final takes place at The Rec Rooms in Horsham on Friday 4th October. Each Comedian gets 10-12 minutes in the Final.

The winner receives:
*Title of Sussex Comedian of the Year (competition held every 2 years)
*£500 prize money
*Intro spot at Big Sundae 2019 in November at The Capitol Theatre (subject to availability) alongside top profiled acts
*Trophy because you need proof to show your Mum!
